What does the course entail?
The aim of this course is to provide people with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their role as a safety representative.
To promote and maintain safety and health in the context of the learners’ workplace and to effectively represent employees on health and safety issues.
On completion of the course each learner will be able to:
Describe the roles, rights and functions of the safety rep
Understand the contents of health and safety legislation
Describe the importance of safety, hazard identification and risk assessments
Outline the factors of accident accusations
Understand the concept of safety and welfare promotion in the workplace
Understand the communication process between staff and management
